Getting hit on a motorcycle can change your life in an instant. There’s no metal frame to protect you—just the road, your injuries, and a long recovery ahead. If someone else caused the crash, you deserve more than just a half-hearted insurance payout.
At Nwogbe Law Group, we represent riders seriously injured in Las Vegas crashes. Whether you’re dealing with broken bones, spinal damage, or a traumatic brain injury, we’ll handle the legal pressure while you focus on healing.
What You May Be Entitled To
Motorcycle accidents come at a high cost—physically, emotionally, and financially. We help injured riders recover compensation for:
- Medical bills and ongoing treatment
- Lost wages and future income
- Pain, suffering, and emotional trauma
- Permanent disability or disfigurement
- Repairs or replacement for your motorcycle
We work with medical experts and accident investigators to build cases on evidence, so insurers can’t quietly discount what your recovery is actually worth.
Why Work with Nwogbe Law Group
The team at Nwogbe Law Group has extensive experience dealing with insurance companies. We prepare every case like it’s going to trial—rejecting lowball offers and fighting for full compensation. When you hire us, you get:
- Direct access to your attorney
- Clear communication and updates
- Aggressive legal representation with a client-first approach
The Bias Riders Face
Every rider claim starts from behind. Adjusters, and often jurors, arrive with an assumption already formed: the motorcycle was going too fast, weaving, taking risks. The driver who turned left across your path becomes an afterthought.
That assumption is the real opponent in these cases, and it does not appear anywhere in the police report. Beating it takes physical evidence: scene measurements, damage patterns, sight-line analysis, and sometimes reconstruction. We build the file to answer the accusation before it’s made, because it will be made.
Common Causes of Motorcycle Accidents
Many motorcycle accidents are preventable. Common causes include distracted driving, failure to yield, unsafe lane changes, and speeding.
Other accidents result from road hazards such as debris, poor pavement conditions, or defective motorcycle parts. In some cases, impaired driving or aggressive behavior plays a role.
The common thread in most of them is a driver who did not see the rider until it was too late.
What to Do After a Motorcycle Accident
The steps you take after a motorcycle accident matter. First, seek medical attention right away, even if your injuries seem minor. Some injuries may not appear immediately.
Next, report the accident to law enforcement and document the scene if possible. This includes photos, witness contact information, and vehicle details.
Damaged gear in particular tells a story about impact that photographs of a bike cannot, so keep your helmet and riding gear rather than discarding them.
Avoid speaking with insurance companies before consulting a lawyer. Talk to a lawyer before you give a recorded statement.
Injuries Commonly Seen in Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcycle crashes often cause serious injuries. These may include traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, broken bones, road rash, and internal injuries.
Many riders also experience long recovery times and emotional distress. These injuries can affect a person’s ability to work and enjoy daily activities.
Riders take the full force of an impact, and even a low-speed crash can cause permanent harm.
Nevada Laws That Affect Your Motorcycle Claim
Helmets are required, and the insurer will bring it up
Under NRS 486.231, every rider and passenger on a public road must wear DOT-approved protective headgear, plus glasses, goggles, or a face shield if the motorcycle has no windscreen. If you weren’t wearing a helmet, expect the insurer to argue your injuries are partly your own doing. That argument has limits: it has no bearing on a broken leg or a crushed ankle, and it does nothing to excuse the driver who caused the crash. It affects the negotiation. It rarely ends the claim.
Lane splitting is illegal here
NRS 486.351 prohibits riding between vehicles occupying adjacent lanes, and unlike California, Nevada carves out no exception for stopped or slow traffic. Lane filtering is prohibited too. Riding two abreast in a single lane with the other rider’s consent is legal, and insurers routinely confuse the two. If you were riding lawfully alongside another motorcycle and the carrier calls it lane splitting, that is a correctable mistake, and correcting it early matters.
Partial fault does not end your claim
Under NRS 41.141, you can still recover as long as your share of the blame is not greater than the other party’s, with your award reduced by your percentage. This is why the bias problem has teeth. Every percentage point an adjuster can shift onto you comes straight out of your recovery.
Two years to file
NRS 11.190(4)(e) gives you two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit in Nevada. Miss it and the claim is gone regardless of how clearly the other driver was at fault.
